Boutique Resort on the Paradise Island of Rote

Looking for a remote gateway to an untouched Indonesian paradise? Travelling to a remote and secluded destination does not need to mean compromising on comfort and luxury. Opening in 2021 is Mick’s Place Rote - a boutique glamping-resort on the paradise island of Rote.

In this article, we’ll be taking a closer look at how you can enjoy your life to the fullest on the island of Rote.

Paradise Sanctuary in Rote

Mick’s Place in Rote Island serves as a peaceful sanctuary for you to ease your mind and body. With over 5 hectares of beachfront and clifftop property, we ensure that guests have ample personal space and privacy to soak in the tropical ambiance, undisturbed. Connect with nature by paddling out to the turquoise seas, or just relax and let your worries melt away by lounging in the shade of your bungalow terrace or around our beachfront infinity pool.

Bungalows made in Heaven

In keeping with the glamping-resort concept, our tropical bungalows have design cues that draw inspiration from East-Indonesian architecture. Featuring a bamboo construction with palm-thatched rooftops, modern interior and a shady terrace lounge area to keep our guests comfortable as they rest in paradise. The bungalow tents come with a semi open-air bathroom and a surrounding tropical garden that is irrigated through recycled water. Electricity and hot water are generated through solar panels to ensure a minimal carbon footprint.

To complement our bungalows, Mick’s Place on Rote Island also features a beachfront lounge and restaurant area overlooking the main pool and ocean lagoon that is designed to comfortably accommodate our guests for a relaxing day out in paradise.

Activities on Rote Island

The geographic location of Rote Island with its relative seclusion from the world means that it is the quintessential island getaway. Here at Mick’s Place, we want to further enhance the experience by offering activities that facilitate the wellness and relaxation of our guests. This includes yoga, spa and massage treatment, mountain biking, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling and surfing of course.

Rote Island offers quality surf all year round. Picture a quiet beach, much like Bali in the old days, where you can enjoy a surf break while looking onto a vista of serene white sand beaches. Offering up consistently good waves for all levels, surfing in Rote has something to offer for everyone from couples to solo travelers looking to experience a remote escape.

For travelers truly looking for a unique getaway experience, Rote Island should be on your bucket list of travel destinations. We look forward to welcoming our distinguished guests at Mick’s Place and to providing you with a truly unique and memorable experience.
